Secrets of Freemasonry

In the distant past it seems that Masons considered a working Knowledge of Geometry to be a great Secret.  This was because a good understanding of Geometry was needed to be able to build a better building than a less skilled group could construct.  It therefore helped the Masons earn a better and higher paid living.

During the middle ages and especially during the Inquisition of the Catholic Church the Masons knew and taught their members that the Earth was spherical and that the Earth revolved around the Sun which was considered Blasphemy, Heresy, or at least something considers bad, by the Catholic Church.  Thus this information had to be kept Secret by the Masons so that they would not be arrested, tortured and perhaps Burned at the Stake.  One must remember that the Catholic Church was very powerful during those times and did not have any use for those who did not totally agree with its teachings. Galileo was a famous victim of the Catholic Church, but at least they did not Burn him at the Stake.  They only punished him by imprisoning him for the rest of his life.  Christianity is such a nice tolerant Religion.  

As far as I know all the current, past, and probably future Secrets of Freemasonry  can be found on the Internet.  I have found all the so-called Secrets of Freemasonry that I am aware of, however along with the so-called Secrets that have been published there is a lot of misinformation written by those who do not understand, or just plain hate, Freemasonry.  Once again each of you should remember that just because it is written does not make it the Truth, even if it is said by preacher, priest, or even your best drinking buddy.  A lot of the information is interesting, and humorous, but just not true.  Enjoy any research you may do on Freemasonry.

Also remember that even a Church softball team will have Secret signs and signals so that the other team will not know what they are planning to do.  Does this make a church softball team a Secret Society and therefore a sinister group that should not be trusted?  Governments and Religions have many secrets that they use to maintain their control over the people.

I would bet that all organized Religions, especially the Revealed Religions, have information that they keep Secret from their lesser members who actually support the religion by donating money to that religion, and the general public.  Does that make them a Secret Society or a Cult?  Of course each and every Religion started out as a Cult and remained a Cult until it became accepted by a large group of followers.  I seriously doubt that the Catholic Church will ever allow any outsiders complete access to the Vatican Secret Archives, or whatever it is now called.  The very name 'Vatican Secret Archives' indicates that the Catholic Church is hiding something secret that they do not want revealed to the people of the world. What are they hiding from us?  Most, if not all, Religions probably have secrets that are kept from even those who are faithful contributors to that Religion.  Any Church calling the Masons a Secret Society may really be a case of the pot calling the kettle black, to use an old and probably politically incorrect phrase.

Secrets of Freemasonry

Many people, especially the anti-Masons, are trying to discover the secrets of Freemasonry. 

Whatever the secrets of Freemasonry are, if any should still exist, are probably as unknown to the Freemasons as they are to the rest of the world.

The only secrets of Freemasonry that I am aware of are the passwords and other methods of identifying those who are of the household of the faithful (Other Freemasons).  Even these are not really secret as they have all been published in books and are readily available on the Internet.  Any search for Masonic Secrets on the internet will provide you with all the passwords and other 'secret' information.  Of course many of these internet sources will be incorrect, but the 'secrets' are all there if you can determine which ones are correct.

If you should discover any great secrets of Freemasonry I would appreciate it if you would inform me of them.  (I am a 32nd Degree Mason, as well as a Past Master, and as such I am probably entitled to know the 'secrets' of Masonry!)  Please share them with me and other Masons.  We really would like to know what secrets others think we are hiding.

It is kind of humorous that others think we are hiding something when we really have nothing to hide.  We must really be the elite since we have a secret that seems to be not even known to us.

Perhaps we will find the secret at some time in the future.  Keep looking under the rocks and even under the rocks that are under the rocks.  Good luck.
