Salvation

Salvation is a belief of Christians that they can be 'saved' by believing in Jesus Christ.

Some Christian sects seem to think one can be saved by confessing your sins to a priest or perhaps by making a large financial donation to an established church.  Many church leaders really love collecting believers' money, especially if they get to spend it on something that they want.

People who speak out against the Freemasons claim that the Freemasons have their own plan for salvation that involves being a good person and in doing good works and does not rely on a belief in Jesus Christ.

Since Freemasonry is not a religion and accepts good men who believe in a Supreme Being, it does not even teach salvation which is a Christian idea.  Nor does it teach any other religion.

Not all Christian ideas have been all that great, or even all that Christian.  It is probably a toss-up to determine if the Christians or the Muslims have killed the most people in support of their name for the Supreme Being, or God, according to the Christians, or Allah, according to the Muslims.

Christians in the past, as well as other religions, have condoned slavery.  Some still accept slavery.

They also imprisoned or killed those who did not agree with the Church on scientific beliefs, such as the Earth being the center of the Universe.  Perhaps the Great Architect of the Universe got a chuckle out of that one.

I seem to feel that God on the day of Judgment will find more favor with a person who has been an honest and good person who has helped his fellow man than he will will with a thieving mass murdering rapist who claims to accept Jesus Christ an instant before he dies.

Perhaps Adolf Hitler or Joseph Stalin accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior just before they died.  Would God consider them to be more worthy of Heaven than an ancient American Indian who was a good person but lived and died 10000 years before Jesus ChristChristians seem to think that anyone who does not believe in Jesus Christ is going to Hell.  That poor American Indian could never have believed in Jesus Christ since he would never have heard of Jesus Christ.
