Restoration of Membership in a Lodge after Suspension

This section may need some more work and may not be 100% correct.  This section applies to Pennsylvania and may or may not be the same in other areas.

The most common reason any Mason is suspended from a Lodge if for refusing to pay his annual Dues.  This is called Suspension for Non-Payment of Dues.

A Mason who has been Suspended for Non-Payment of Dues may simply pay his Dues for the year he was suspended if a Masonic Year has not yet elapsed.

If more than a Masonic Year has elapsed he must pay the Dues for the year he was suspended and the Dues for the current year.  Since he was already made a Mason he does not need to file a Petition for Initiation and Membership.

After he has paid the Dues for the year he was suspended and for the current year he can be returned to Good Masonic Standing.  At his point he can be voted upon for Membership in the Lodge.

If you have been delinquent in the payment of your Dues you can easily rejoin your Lodge since the GLOP has created an Amnesty Program for Non-Payment of Dues for 2011. Please read the information on this link for more information.

Members who have been suspended for some reason other than not paying dues will probably have to work a lot harder to be restored to membership.
