Requirements to be a Mason
A prospective Mason must:
1) Be freeborn
2) Be male
3) Be of mature age (18 or 21 years depending on jurisdiction)
4) Believe in a Supreme Being (God by some name)
5) Be unanimously accepted by other Masons in the Lodge.
(As of 2010 if no more than two members vote against him, he
can become a Mason.)
6) Ask to become a member of the Institution.
(As of 2010 a man can be asked to join in Pennsylvania.)
A prospective Mason cannot be:
1) An Atheist
2) A Libertine
3) A fool
4) An immoral person
5) A slave
6) A woman
7) A child under age
