Prayer

Prayer is an attempted communication with the Supreme Being usually for praise or thanks but also often as a request for divine intervention in an upcoming event.  When the desired event actually occurs people say that their prayers have been answered.

Probably most people on Earth offer a Prayer to their God every day.  This would amount to at least six billion of prayers being given each and every day.  How many of them are heard and answered by the Supreme Being?

Many offered prayers are totally ridiculous. Prayers are often made in an attempt to get the Supreme Being to grant a win to a particular sports team.  I cannot imagine the Supreme Being having any concern about which team wins a basketball game!  Perhaps God chooses the winner of every game since at least one person on each team has probably prayed for his or her team to win.  Both teams cannot win the event.  There will be a winner and a loser even if both teams pray for a win.

Prayer can be thought of as a form of Divination since it is an attempt to communicate with the Supernatural.
