Pope Urban II 

Pope Urban II was born Odo of Lagery in France about 1035 and died on 29 July 1099.  His death was 44 days after the Catholic soldiers captured Jerusalem and murdered all its residents in a great showing of Christian values.

He gave a speech at Clermont in 1095 calling for the First Crusade.  (See "The Knights Templar and their Myth" page 7)
