Pope
The plural of Pope is Popes.
The Pope is the elected leader or the Catholic Church. He usually lives at the Vatican.
As I understand it the Pope is considered by followers of the Catholic Church as being infallible, which seems to mean that he is never wrong. Fortunately for the Earth this seems to be only with regard to Roman Catholic Church dogma or doctrine which is only somewhat important to followers of the Catholic Church.
Catholics seem to consider the Pope to be God's Representative on Earth.
There is rather good evidence that at least some Popes in the past have been wrong about at least a few things. One that comes to mind is their claim that the Earth is, or at least was, the center of the Universe and all heavenly bodies rotated around the Earth. The Catholic Church seems to have changed its view on this sometime shortly before the year 2000 AD when they seem to have admitted that Galileo may have been correct in his beliefs. This was only a few hundred years after the Catholic Church gave Galileo a sentence of life imprisonment for his non-belief of the official Catholic Church dogma. The Catholic Church has never been noted for any rapid change in its beliefs. One would think that an admission like this would nullify the Infallibility of the Pope but that does not seem to be the case. I must assume that Catholics are now permitted to admit that the Earth is shaped like a sphere instead of being a flat surface, and that it now revolves around the Sun.
Popes sometimes issue Papal Bulls including quite a few Papal Bulls against Freemasonry.
