Another name for The High Priestess Card of the Tarot, which see for more information.
It is said to be indicative of the Female Pope, a concept that is not appreciated by the Catholic Church in any way, shape or form.
Some Christian sects consider Mary Magdalene to have been the leader of Christianity after the death of Jesus Christ. (See "The Second Messiah" p 89 -90) Note: Jesus Christ was a Jew and therefore not a Christian so perhaps Mary Magdalene was really the first leader of Christianity .
Also an Englishwoman is considered by many to have become a pope by posing as a Man. She is said to have died in childbirth. She is sometimes called Pope Joan but was usually called Pope John VIII. Of course the Catholic Church seems to deny that this ever happened. (See "The Second Messiah" p 92)
