Origins of Freemasonry 

The origins of Freemasonry are rather obscure.

Probably nobody has any acceptable proof as to when Freemasonry started.

There are many theories.

It is known to have existed since the forming of the Grand Lodge of England in 1717 but it is also known to have existed long before that time.

Some think Freemasonry began when the Catholic Church and King Philip IV of France attempted to murder or imprison all the members of the Knights Templar.

Some trace Freemasonry back to the building of King Solomon's Temple.

Some trace Freemasonry back to around the time of Noah and his big boat.

Some consider Freemasonry to have begun with Adam in the Garden of Eden.

Some consider the Supreme Being to have been the first Mason.  The creation of the Universe has to have been the largest construction project that ever was started.  I wonder how God ever got through the environmental impact statements.  The fact that the Universe was created seem proof enough for the existence of only one Supreme Being since if there had been more than one Supreme Being they would probably still be arguing about how to build the Universe.

Nobody really knows. 

Ancient records simply do not exist to prove its origins.

Perhaps it is a Secret!!!!

It is probable that nobody, including the Masons, really know the origin of Freemasonry.

It may have started when the Grand Lodge of England was formed.

It may have started with the guilds of the Middle Ages.

It may have been a continuation of the Knights Templar.

It may have started with the building of King Solomon's temple.

It may have begun with Noah and his sons.

It may have started with Adam.

God Himself may have started Freemasonry to improve mankind.

Nobody really knows, and probably nobody ever will.
