Oblong Square
A geometric figure with four right angles and four sides, two parallel sides being longer that the other two parallel sides. Two equal squares placed adjacent to each other making the figure twice as long as it is wide.
This figure can also be called a rectangle.
A Lodge room is usually rectangular in shape.
It has been said that King Solomon's Temple was 30 feet by 60 feet.
I have never seen this term used in anything not Masonic.
When the Officers are in their proper positions about the alter they should be in the shape of an Oblong Square about 8 feet wide by 16 feet long.
