Myth
A Myth is considered to be a story, legend or a fable.
Myths now are considered to be fabulous and probably not true. The fact that they are now considered to be false does not make them untrue.
Myths are often considered to be fiction, however today's fiction may become tomorrows truth and common knowledge.
Just because something is considered by the 'authorities' by Governments and Religions to be false does not make it so. Those 'authorities' probably have an agenda that they wish to force upon others.
Some Myths may be true, others may be false. You must decide which may be true and which may be false.
Events that do not agree with the 'official' version of History that is accepted by the 'experts', the 'authorities', organized Religions and by textbooks are usually dismissed as simply being Myths.
Perhaps many of the so-called Myths really were true but their documentation was destroyed by some Religion or government because the Myths did not totally support the ideas of those religions or governments.
Remember what Henry Ford said about History. He was probably correct. Remember also the those who control the present also control the past. They rewrite history to suit their needs or desires.
Be a Freethinker and do not let your beliefs be forced upon you by others. Remember that the authorities have lied to you in the past and will continue to lie to you in the future. Even our parents, teachers and preachers lie to the little children each and every year about Santa Clause, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. Who knows what else they have lied to us about.
Somewhere I have seen references to a comment by a Pope something to the effect like "This myth of Christ has served us well." Does that mean that the story of Jesus Christ is false? I do not know. It depends upon which definition of 'myth' he was using at the time.
