Morning Star

The term Morning Star usually refers to the Planet Venus, AKA Lucifer, when the Planet rises in the East shortly before the Sun rises a bit later in the Morning.  The Morning Star is thus the light bearer, or bringer of light. Light is a term often used to indicate Knowledge or Understanding.

Sometimes the term Morning Star seems to refer to the Sun.

See Venus for additional information.

In the Holy Bible, Jesus Christ refers to himself as the Morning Star, which seems to have originally been called Lucifer. I am unsure why Jesus Christ would refer to himself as Lucifer, if Lucifer really had anything to do with Satan.  However, at the time Jesus Christ walked on Earth Lucifer seems to have only referred to Venus when it rose in the Morning.  Associating Satan with Lucifer seems to have been an invention of some Christians, probably priests, at a much later date.  I wonder what their agenda was when they decided to vilify the Planet Venus!
