Sir Robert Moray
He was the first man recorded to be made a Mason in England. (This does not mean he was the first Mason in England as someone had to make him a Mason.) It is recorded that he was made a Mason in 1641.
He was a founder of the Royal Society.
It is said that he was a chemist and that he was a patron of the Rosicrucians. (See "Rule by Secrecy" page 229)
