Military Draft

In 1862 the Freemasons were blamed for causing the Military Draft in both the North and the South.  On the first day of the Military Draft, 10 Nov 1862, in Port Washington, Wisconsin, a mob ransacked Osakkee Lodge #17, destroyed the premises, then attacked the courthouse and the house of the draft commissioner who just happened to be a Freemason.
