Mile, Statute

A Stature Mile is a distance of 5280 feet.  The Statute Mile is what is commonly called simply the mile.  It is an English unit of measurement.

In Freemasonry one mile is considered to be 1/3 of the length of a Mason's Cable Tow.

At least, I assume that the Statute Mile is the correct unit for measurement.

The Length of a Mason's Cable Tow is considered to be three miles from the place of meeting of his Lodge.

1 mile = 63360*2.54 = 160934.4 centimeters

1 mile = 5280*12 = 63360 inches

1 mile = 5280*3 = 15840 hands

1 mile = 5280 feet

1 mile = 5280/3 = 1760 yards

1 mile = 160934.4/100 = 1609.344 meters

1 mile = 8 furlongs

1 mile = 1609.344/1000 = 1.609344 kilometers

1 mile x 1 mile = 640 acres

1 mile x 1 mile = 1/36 township
