Masonic History 

Masonic history can be broken into two parts:

    1) Historic Masonic History (Records known to exist)

    2) Prehistoric Masonic History (Records may exist)

The historical study of Freemasonry relates to its History from an exoteric or public point of view.  (See "The History of Freemasonry" by Mackey page 1)
