Masonic Funeral Service

A Masonic Funeral Service is a service done by Freemasons to honor the passing on of a Masonic Brother.

A Masonic Funeral Service must be requested by the widow, or by the family of the dead Mason if he had no wife.

According to Masonic Law the Masonic Funeral Service must be done after the close of any calling hours and it cannot be done in conjunction with any other organization.

When my father died a very good friend of mine, who happened to be at the Masonic Funeral Service held for my father, told me afterward that it was the most tactful and honorable type of service he had seen done at a funeral.  My friend is not had has never been a Mason.  Perhaps someday!

The Masonic Funeral Service is done in public so it has no secrets.  It is written down and a copy of it is given to the Widow of the Mason after the Masonic Funeral Service.
