Macon
This seems to be the French word for Mason, or stoneworker.
This word may have become the English word Mason.
The macons practiced the art of maconnerie.
(See "The Templar Pirates" page 92)
After the arrest of the Knights Templar on Friday 13 October 1307, the macons (Masons) protected many members of the Knights Templar. (See "The Templar Pirates" page 41) This seems likely since the macons must have worked closely with the Knights Templar during the building of the great castles and cathedrals. A friendship had probably developed along with a sharing of ideology.
