Lilith

Considered by many to have been Adam's first wife or consort.  She is said to have been created by God at the same time as God created Adam.  She was considered to be on an equal standing with Adam, and not his subordinate.  The concept of equality seems to have not set well with early church leaders so perhaps they 'created' Eve so that woman would be subservient to man instead of being equal in value to a man.  Most religions, especially the expansionist religions or the revealed religions still consider the Worth of a Woman to be less than that of a male.  Some religions still will not let a woman preach the teachings of that religion.  Is it possible that a religion might have rewritten at least part of the Holy Bible to legitimize their position regarding women?  Who would have thought!
