Kraken 

A large, probably mythical, sea monster that destroyed ships and sailors.

Erik Pontoppidan, bishop of Bergen, described the kraken "which seems to be in appearance of an English mile and a half in circumference (some say more, but I chuse (Original spelling) the least for greater certainty)" (See "Mysteries of the Deep" by Thorndike page 6)

Note: The author of this website has yet to hear that the Freemasons are or were responsible for the creation of the kraken. Be patient, the anti-Masons will eventually blame it on us. (Unless it is found and turns out to be a good creature, then we will be blamed for hiding it for so long.)
