Knights of Malta

This order is said by some to be connected to the Masons.

The Knights of Malta inherited the military orders of the old Knights Templar.

The American branch of the order is called the "American Order of the Knights of Malta" and it was formed by John J Raskob and a dozen others.

Originally they were known as the Knights Hospitallers.  They then became the Sovereign and Military Order of Malta, or simply the Knights of Malta.

As of the year 2000 the Knights of Malta are said to be headquartered in Rome under the direct supervision of the Pope and they are recognized by over 40 nations as a sovereign nation. (See "Rule by Secrecy" page 312)
