King Alfonso IV of Portugal

He seems to have protected the Knights Templar that came to Portugal after they were arrested by King Philip IV of France under orders from, or with the approval of, Pope Clement V of the Vatican.

He seems to have allowed the Knights Templar to form the Order of the Knights of Christ and he became their first Grand Master.
