Jesuits
A religious order founded by Ignatius Loyola in 1540. It is said that they were formed to combat the enemies of the Vatican and to protect the secrets of the church. They became a militant force to fight against heretics and Protestants. (See "Rule by Secrecy" page 313)
Adam Weishaupt was studying to be a Jesuit priest.
The Jesuits are also known as the Society of Jesus.
