James the Just

James the Just was the brother of Jesus Christ who was the first Bishop of Jerusalem during the fourth and fifth decades of the first century AD.

It is said by many that James the Just took over as the leader of the religious beliefs of Jesus Christ.  This belief is not a belief of the Roman Catholic Church for a variety of reasons, one of which is that they consider Peter to have followed as the leader after the death of Jesus Christ.  It is said that in 1996, Pope John Paul II, issued a statement declaring that Jesus Christ was the only child of Mary, the mother of Jesus Christ.   This seems to be an odd claim since even the Holy Bible mentions the brother of Jesus Christ.  (See "The Second Messiah" page 2 - 3.)

The Roman Catholic Church downplayed the role of James the Just and emphasized the role of Peter and Paul in an effort to ensure themselves of a direct linage of the Popes back to Jesus Christ himself.  (See "The Second Messiah" p 19)  This would not have been hard to do since the Catholic Church ruled the 'known world' for at least 1500 years.  They could easily have written anything they wanted and they were good a killing those who did not totally agree with them.
