Higher Degrees of Freemasonry

Freemasonry has been accused by Anti-Masons of having degrees higher than the Scottish Rite 33rd degree.  Why should they care how many degrees exist?

A man is considered to be a full fledged Mason once he has received the 3rd Degree.  Freemasons are told that the other degrees are 'side degrees, but are no higher in rank.

It is said by those who oppose Freemasonry that there are higher degrees that only the 'few' and 'select' know about.

If they exist I do not know about them, perhaps because I am only a lowly 32nd degree Mason.  If you have any knowledge about higher degrees please let me know as I am always interested in seeking more knowledge.

I have read that at one time there were many degrees that numbered up into the 3 digit numbers.  As I discover more about them I will add information to this website.
