Henry the Navigator

Prince Henry the Navigator was a Grand Master of the Knights of Christ which was formed in Portugal by the members of the Knights Templar who escaped arrest by King Philip IV of France and Pope Clement V. (See "The Templar Pirates" page 42)

He, through his association with the surviving Knights Templar, probably had access to ancient Phoenician and Arabic maps showing a large continent to the west of the Azores islands. (See "The Templar Pirates" page 42)

Died in 1460 (See "The Templar Pirates" page 129)
