Gnostic Gospels

These are a series of ancient tests and books that are related to the works of Jesus Christ but have been rejected by the original compilers of the Holy Bible.

The so-called true Church (Catholic Church) rejected these as being heretical works as they did not fit well into the ideas of Christianity as determine by the early Catholic Church.  The attitude of the Catholic Church seemed to be to destroy or discredit anything that did not support the idea they wanted to have presented.  The Catholic Church has worked hard to discredit these documents.  The Catholic Church would probably have destroyed them, or hid them very deeply, if they had had the chance.

They have been around at least as long as the gospels in the New Testament.

Many were found at Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt in 1945 or 1947. (Not sure of date)

For more information see "The Hiram Key" chapter 4.

Gnostic Gospels include:

    "Apocalypse of Peter"

    "Gospel of Philip"

    "Gospel of Thomas"

    "The Sophia of Jesus Christ

Other Gnostic Gospels were found at Qumran and they are known as the Dead Sea Scrolls.
