Eve

Eve is said to have been the first female on Earth according to the Holy Bible.  It is said, at least in the Holy Bible, that Eve was created from Adam from one of his ribs.  Eve is credited with eating the forbidden fruit and providing it to Adam thus making all of mankind sinful forever.  It is said that Eve was tempted, or perhaps tricked, by the Snake or Serpent into eating the Apple.  The Snake or Serpent seems to be a term used to indicate Satan or the Devil. This seems to be called 'Original Sin' by the Catholic Church.  Are we still being punished for the sins of Eve?   A few hundred, or a few thousand, generations seems like a long time to be held responsible for the sins of an ancestor.  Makes no sense to me.  The Supreme Being who has bestowed so many good things upon us would not hold Eve's eating an Apple against us after all this time.  I consider God to be of a higher moral standard that that required to punish a few thousand generations for the failure of the second person of the Planet Earth. 

Perhaps Eve was the second woman to be the wife of Adam since Lilith is considered by many to have been Adam's first wife.  Lilith was the equal to Adam and was not considered as being required to service the wishes of Adam like a slave, unlike Eve who is considered to have been created by God from one of Adam's ribs.

The term Eve is also used to indicate the night before.  As an example All Hallows Eve is the day before Halloween. Also Christmas Eve, December 24 of each year, is the night before Christmas.

Eve is said to have been Adam's wife in the Garden of Eden, and the mother of Cain, Able, Seth, and probably a lot of others including daughters that are not mentioned in the Holy Bible probably due to the fact that Christianity considers the Worth of a Woman to be only about half of that of a man so the early Christians who did the translations would not have bothered to waste Ink and paper to record the names of near worthless females. They did at least mention Eve. 

Question: Who married them as husband and wife or were they what we now call common law husband and wife?

Question: Did they have a marriage certificate?  To the best of our knowledge paper and writing had not yet been invented.

Question: Did they get a marriage license to get married?  Probably not since there was no one else to issue them a license and paper had not yet been invented.

Question: Why did Eve not die when she ate the apple since she had been supposedly told by God that she would surely die.  Why would God say that she would surely die when she did not die until a long time later.  I do not think that we know when Eve died but it must have been a long time after eating the apple.  She must have lived at least 130 years since that was the age of Adam when he fathered Seth.  I would not worry much about what I eat if it was not going to effect me for 130 years.  Did God just mean that she would die sometime or was He lying just to attempt to keep her from eating His apples?  I seriously doubt that God was wrong, but I would guess that whoever wrote down, or later translated, the Book of Genesis was either wrong or had some sort of an agenda to force his ideas upon others.  Perhaps that person raised apples.  Does God eat Apples?  

It is a good thing for the Apple Castle that we can now eat Apples.

Eve is also a fairly common name for a female human being at least in America.
