Eostre

Eostre was or is the Saxon Goddess of spring who seems also to have known as Ostara.

This word is very similar to the name of the Christian holiday known as Easter.  Could this just be a coincidence or did Easter come from Eostre?  Who knows, or at least who will admit that Easter may have come from an old Saxon Goddess?
