East

East is one of the four main points on a compass.

On a compass East is the same as 90 degrees.

The East is the direction one must face to observe the rising of the Sun.

The Sun appears to rise in the East to open and rule the day.  What really seems to happen is that the Earth rotates on its axis which causes the Sun to appear to be rising from the East.  This fact was known by the Freemasons a long time ago but was kept secret and not written down since the knowledge of this scientific fact was considered heresy or blasphemy by the Catholic Church and sometimes resulted in being Burned at the Stake for expressing this idea, or at least being tortured or imprisoned.

If the Earth rotated the other direction the Sun would appear to rise in the West.

The Worshipful Master stands in the East to open and rule his Lodge.  Even if the Lodge is not located in the correct direction the Worshipful Master stands in the Symbolic East.  This is sometimes used by Anti-masons as proof that the Freemasons worship the Sun

Symbolically, if not in actuality, the Priest of a Catholic Church (And probably most other Christian Churches) also stands in the East.  If having the leaders of a religion or other organization stand in the East, or at least in the Symbolic East, means sun worship, then does this mean that most Christians are also really just Sun Worshipers?

The Orient is considered to be in the East, hence the Oriental Chair in Freemasonry.

Sun worshipers tended to always face the East.

Lucifer (Venus when it is the Morning Star), rises in the East shortly before the Sun rises to open and rule the day.

Most pictures of Jesus Christ show the Sun as a Sunburst behind His face, which would at least indicate that Jesus Christ was in the East, perhaps representing the Sun, or Son of God.  If Christianity is not at least somewhat evolved from sun-worship then why would Christians put an image of the Sun (A Glory) around the head of our God?  Think about it - be a Freethinker.)
