Dues of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania
The GLOP dues were set at $12.00/yr per member on 04 December 1991.
The GLOP dues were set at $20.00/yr per member at the June 2003 Communication of the GLOP. For those members who were Life Members before 07 Dec 1955 the Grand Lodge Dues are only $2.00/year
The GLOP is hoping to raise there dues by $5.00/year/Grand Lodge Member for the Masonic Year beginning on 27 Dec 2009. They seem to want to due this since their assets have decreased mostly due to the reduction on the value of stocks. Most of America is in the same boat so perhaps the GLOP should just stick it out like the rest of us. This increase, if approved, will raise the GLOP dues to $25.00/year.
All Masons in Pennsylvania, except for 50 year members, must pay dues to the GLOP even if they are not Members of the GLOP. Only Wardens, Masters, and Past Masters are considered members of the GLOP. Why do all Masons have to pay Grand Lodge Dues when they are not Members of the GLOP? Is this taxation without representation?
However the GLOP does provide some services for all Pennsylvania Masons who have a need for a specific service. They also provide mailing address labels for each Lodge each month for the Monthly Notices.
