Donations to a Church
Donations to most Churches are tax-deductible, at least in America if you itemize your deductions, since most Churches have been granted Tax-Exempt status under section 501 of the IRS code.
Some people consider the donations voluntary while some Donations to a Church to be mandatory as a method of paying for admission to Heaven. Some Religions do a real fine job of getting people to give money to their Church by convincing folks that they must donate to the Church to assure themselves an everlasting life in paradise. Some folks consider this to be coercion or even a form of robbery. (See MPD_0014 for addition information.) The idea being that you will Donate to the Church or you will be doomed to spend eternity in Hell. Perhaps I am committing Blasphemy by even mentioning this possibility.
Some donations are used to build massive and expensive structures for use by the churches.
Many Donations to a Church are simply used by the leaders of that Church to enable the leaders to live the so-called good life and to be able to enjoy better homes, cars, airplanes or even a mistress or two.
Other donations are used in an attempt to increase membership so that money can be collected from more believers.
Some money donated to churches is used for missionaries whose job is to convince people of other religions that your religion is the one and only true religion so that they will join your religion and them start donating money to your religion.
Even a small percentage of the donated money is used to help those in need.
Most church properties are even exempt from paying property taxes which forces even non-church people to have to support the church by making up the difference that the church does not pay.
