Deck of Cards 

The standard Deck of Cards has 52 cards plus the Joker.  Not all card games use the Joker.

The Deck of Cards is divided into Four Suits of Thirteen cards each.  One may consider the Joker to be another suit since it can represent any card or any suit.

The Four Suits are said to represent the Four Seasons of the Year or perhaps the Four original Elements, or the Four Winds of Heaven.  They seem to have developed from the Tarot

There are Three Face Cards that can be considered to represent the Trinity.  The Tarot has Four Face, or Court, Cards.

The value or number of each card is as follows:

     A =  1
     2 =  2
     3 =  3
     4 =  4
     5 =  5
     6 =  6
     7 =  7
     8 =  8
     9 =  9
    10 = 10
     J = 11
     Q = 12
     K = 13

SUM    = 91

When you add the four suits together and add the Joker you get a value of 365 which is the number of days in a year. (4)(91) + 1 = 365

The modern Deck of Cards seems to have developed from the Minor Arcana of the Tarot, which due to the Catholic Church declaring the Knights Templar as Heretics resulted in the loss of the four knights from the Tarot.
