Darkest Days of the Year
The Darkest Days of the Year seem to occur, at least in the Northern Hemisphere, from about 21 or 22 December thru about 24 December, a period of about three days. During this time the Sun has reached it lowest point in the sky and is often considered 'dead' until it seems to start rising again on 25 December. This seems to be the reason that Christianity considers 25 December to be the date of the birth of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, or perhaps the Sun of God. On 25 December the Sun starts to become noticeably brighter and higher in the sky, and the days start to become longer. Throughout History most Gods and Saviors have been 'born' from a 'virgin' on 25 December.
