Christianity and Human Sacrifice
The entire basis of Christianity is that God required a human sacrifice, that of Jesus Christ (God himself?), to appease God so that God did not need to have more men murdered. Since God and Jesus are considered to be the same, by Christians, this means that God committed suicide by irritating mankind enough that mankind killed God so that He could be raised from the dead and thus 'save' mankind. This is a rather odd concept for the Supreme Being.
This belief is about the same as the beliefs of the Aztecs and the Mayans. God, as Christianity understands Him, required that Human Sacrifices take place to make God a happy camper so that He does not need to keep killing more men, or critters, for their so-called sins.
Sacrifices to God, in the modern world, should be made in American Dollars, or perhaps in Gold, Silver or fantastic precious stones that can be used to decorate Churches or to add value to the outfit worn by the Pope. The leaders of most modern churches probably have no knowledge of how to kill a lamb or cow to make God happy.
