Christianity and America
At this time, and contrary to much public opinion, America thankfully is not a Christian nation no matter what some people say.
Hopefully America will never become a Christian Nation since that would be against the principles that America was founded upon.
Christianity (and all the other Revealed Religions) has never been very fond of Freedom of Religion since it considers Christianity to be the one only true religion that all people should follow. Of course this bigoted attitude seems to be common amongst all of the so-called Revealed Religions.
If America ever becomes a Christian Nation our Freedom of Religion will most likely vanish along with those who do not follow Christianity, who will probably be murdered in some unpleasant manner. Throughout History the Christians have been rather fond of murdering others who were not Christians. Of course they have done so in an effort to please or help God, who really needs no help since he is all-powerful and Created the Universe. He, She, or It needs no help from mankind. He can kill us whenever he so desires for whatever reason He, She, or It chooses, or for no real reason at all other than that He, She, or It feels like so doing. We all will die at some time when God decides it is time to kill us, or has someone else do the job for He, She, or It. We know not when God will decide to kill us.
We should continue to pray to the Supreme Being that America never supports any one Religion, especially a Revealed Religion.
America is not a Christian Nation because our forefathers were smart enough to insist that there be no establishment of any State Religion. They, or their ancestors, had had, or at least had seen, enough religious persecution in the so-called Christian Nations of Europe to know that they did not want America to have any sanctioned State Religion. We should thank the Supreme Being for this fact every day and pray to Him that we as Americans are net yet required to follow any specific religion.
The Constitution of the Unites States of America forbids the Congress of the United States from establishing any religion or prohibiting any religion. There is nothing in the Constitution of the United States that prohibits a State from establishing a State religion.
