Chicken Dinners at 804

Early in 2009 Brother Sam Whiting, owner of Whiting Meat Shoppe, offered to cook a BBQ chicken dinner as a fundraiser for Wilmington Lodge No. 804. If you have not yet patronized Whiting Meat Shoppe you should check this business out as they do a real good job of selling great tasting meats at a reasonable price.  If you hear of a dinner being done by the Brother Sam Whiting you can count on a good feast.

The first BBQ Chicken Dinner was held on 19 April 2009 at Wilmington Lodge No. 804.  It was not as well attended as expected however the dinner was very tasty.  Reason for poor attendance is unknown.  We sold enough dinners to at least cover expenses. Click here to view Flyer for the 2009 dinner.

The second BBQ Chicken Dinner was held on 24 April 2010 at Wilmington Lodge No. 804. This dinner was well attended with about 140 to 150 dinners being served.  Again the dinner was superb in addition to producing a reasonable income for the Lodge.  Wilmington Lodge No. 804 planned for about 120 dinners but ran out of rolls before we were done serving.  The chicken supply, and everything else, was more than adequate.  Dinner included all the chicken you wanted, coleslaw, potato salad, baked beans, roll, cake, and drinks.  Perhaps it just took a year for the local people to realize how good a chicken dinner we serve.
