Burning Times 

The Burning Times refers to the period in Europe when the Christians persecuted and tortured Witches, alleged Witches and others that the Christians, then known as the Catholic Church, did not like or approve of.  Many of these 'undesirables' were Burned at the stake or hung, often after imprisonment and torture.  The Inquisition of the Catholic Church, which still sexists under a new name, did a pretty good job of killing in some unpleasant manner those it did not like.  It seems like the Catholic Priests of that time must have enjoyed having the total control of, and the ability to torture and kill, those they disliked.  Perhaps they got excited and had orgasms watching others die in a painful manner.  There are still weirdoes who like to watch others suffer and die.  At least now in societies which have Freedom of Religion these perverts are mostly in jail or in some secure mental institution where they cannot hurt anyone else.  In the past these perverts ruled Christianity with no less an Iron Fist than Communist Leaders.

The Knights Templar suffered the same way as the Witches.  Freemasons also have been tortured and killed by some so-called Christian churches in the past.  It still seems that the leaders of the Catholic Church would still like to eliminate the Freemasons if they could.  We all should thank the Supreme Being that the Catholic Church of old has lost most of its previous power.  It is fortunately now only somewhat in charge of about a billion people as the other five to six billion people do not care what the Pope wants.  The world of today would not tolerate a Pope who allowed people to be Burned at the Stake, at least if they knew such activity was still being done.  As far as I know Christianity has stopped Burning People at the Stake even if they may wish they could still so do.

I hope and pray to the one and only Supreme Being that no Religion will ever become powerful enough to enslave all the people and force them to follow the beliefs of any one Religion.

What a good 'Christian' attitude the Christians had back then!  Fortunately during the present time most Religions are not as powerful in most parts of the world as the Christians were back then.  However, some Muslim countries seem to still be completely under the control of their Religion. 

I am not sure that the Christians and/or the Muslims are any more tolerant of other Religions now, but at least they do not go around much anymore hanging people and burning them at the stake.  This activity is probably against the law at least in most parts of the world.  Burning at the stake seems to have been replaced by terrorist planted bombs, which are now used by some Religions, mostly Islam, to eliminate those who do not think the same way they do.  They do not even care if they kill their own believers with a bomb.  The attitude now, and a long time ago, seems to be to kill them all and let God sort them out.  Some of the major Religions have done a pretty good job of population control.

It seems that some current Religions would be happy to again start killing Freemasons, and others, by Burning at the Stake, even though the Freemasons are not a Religion in any way, shape, or form.  Freemasons being for the most part Freethinkers, are, however, willing to allow a person to choose his own Religion and thus his own name for his Supreme Being.  Freemasons do not feel the need to kill people, and at least to the best of my Knowledge never have killed people, over the name they use for God.  Killing people over the name that they use for the Supreme Being is reserved for Religions since Religions are so efficient at killing people in the name of God.  They justify this killing by saying that it is for their God.  Organized religions, especially Expansionist Religions, are the very good at keeping the population reduced by murdering the unfaithful.

I wonder what the Great Architect of the Universe thinks about his people killing his other people just because the other people think of the Supreme Being in a slightly different manner than the murderers.  Hopefully a just Supreme Being will cause those perverts to suffer a very long time for their actions.
