Burning Tapers

These are the Three Candles that are placed around the Altar in a Masonic Lodge.  The Candles stand at the northwest, northeast and southwest corners of the Altar.  In many Lodges the Burning Tapers have been replaced with electric lights on stands.  Our Lodge still uses Candles in glass vases.

The Burning Tapers represent the Three Lesser Lights of Freemasonry.
