Burning at the Stake

In the past members of the Catholic Church, and perhaps other Religions, seemed to enjoy securing a person to a post, placing combustible materials around the helpless person, lighting the fire and then watching the person slowly roast to death. Of course this was considered to have been done in the name of God, perhaps simply over the name of God that was used by the person who got roasted into a crispy critter. It may have been done to a person for simply holding an idea, or even Knowledge, that pissed off the Catholic Church, other Religion or local government.
Sometimes it is said, at least by Catholics, that the Burning at the Stake was done by governments instead of the Catholic Church, but the governments that did this barbaric deed were usually under the rules established by the Pope of the Catholic Church and would probably not have done so without the permission or encouragement of the leaders of the Catholic Church.
This helped Force people to obey the desires of the the Catholic Church and/or to at least express a belief in the ideas put forth by the Catholic Church. The threat of being Burned at the Stake was pretty good incentive to say you agree with everything the Church said, even if you did not agree with any of the teachings of the Catholic Church or government.
Burning at the Stake was probably not much fun for the victim, but the perverted so-called Christian priests, and government officials, must have enjoyed watching their victims suffer, or they would not have done such a horrible thing. What a great Christian attitude and belief! These priests were really perverted demented low-quality humans!
Of course since it was done in the name of God it was probably deemed appropriate.
Many people were Burned at the Stake for irritating the ruling Catholic Church. Perhaps millions of them. The true number will probably never be known. Only the Vatican may have those records and it is real unlikely that the Pope will ever have a list published that lists all those that the Inquisition murdered by burning at the stake.
Joan of Arc, Jacques de Molay and countless others were Burned at the Stake, but since all were killed for God it seems to make the actions correct, at least to the Christians. What a bunch of crap!
Burning heathens and Pagans at the stake seems to have been replaced with terrorism in the never ending attempt to get other people to follow the one 'true' religion as defined by the leaders of the various churches. Terror in the name of God seems to now be part of Islam instead of Christianity.
As far as I know even the Nazis were not as cruel as the early Catholic Church. Adolf Hitler even thought that he was helping his Religion, the Catholic Church, and his God by killing the Jews. As far as I know Adolf Hitler at least killed his victims before he had them brunt into crispy critters. Adolf Hitler, as bad and perverted as he was, was not near as bad as some of the early leaders of Christianity.
If there is a Hell I hope that every single priest, Pope or other person who participated in, watched, ordered, or allowed, Burning People at the Stake, gets to slowly burn in Hell forever for their criminal actions. They were awful people and they deserve to suffer forever. What a bunch of perverts they were. How could they ever have thought that their actions were helping God?
