Bishop Theophilus of Alexandria

Under the leadership of the Roman Catholic Bishop of Alexandria a mob of Christians destroyed the great Library of Alexandria in what seems to have been an attempt to destroy all existing Knowledge of other religions that  the Catholic Church did not approve of at that time.  What an awful waste this now criminal attitude caused.
