Battle of the Horns of Hattin

This battle was fought in 1187 and the Christians lost to the Muslims. See "The Knights Templar and their Myth" page 18)

Said to have happened on 04 July 1187 near an extinct volcano in Galilee near Tiberius in present day Israel.  The Muslims, who defeated the Christians, were led by Saladin.  It is estimated that between 17,000 and 20,000 Christians were killed at this battle. (I had this info in my notes that I took while reading something at sometime in the past.)
