Battle of Bannockburn
Battle that took place on 24 June 1314 between Scotland and England. The Scotts were led by their King Robert the Bruce, and the English by their King Edward II. This battle allowed Scotland to gain independence from England.
It is said that many of the Knights Templar assisted Scotland in defeating the English during the Battle of Bannockburn. It is also said that they fought under the leadership of Henry Sinclair. (See "The Templar Pirates" page 43)
Of course, officially, the Knights Templar had already been exterminated by the Catholic Church and the King of France.
June 24 is an important day in Freemasonry perhaps because it was near the Summer Solstice and at one time may have been the Summer Solstice.
