Astronomy

Astronomy is one of the Seven Liberal Arts.  Astronomy played a great part in the development of most Religions, including Christianity although most Christians will probably never admit to such a seemingly  blasphemous idea.

Most religious holidays and festivals are based upon the location of the Sun and/or the Moon at various times throughout the year.  Some examples are Christmas, Easter, Candlemas and All Hallows Eve, which respectively fall on or about the Winter Solstice, the Spring Equinox, Imbolc, and Samhain.

Astronomy is the study of the heavens.

Most modern Religions, when you cut thru the dogma, seem to have developed from older Religions that are now considered by the modern Religions to have been Pagan or perhaps from Myths or perhaps even from Astronomy.
