Arius

Arius was a priest from Alexandria who argued at the Council of Nicaea that Jesus Christ was a prophet and not God.

Arius was opposed by Athanasius who claimed that Jesus Christ and God were one and the same.

A vote was taken and Arius lost so Jesus Christ was elevated to the status of God.  The vote count, if taken, probably was 'lost' for political or religious reasons.  I do not know what the vote count was.

Since Arius lost it is said that he was then considered to be a heretic.  I do not know if he was then tortured and/or killed for his beliefs.

See "The Hiram Key" page 64 for more information.

Did the Trinity exist at this time? Anyone know?
