Anchor Steam Beer

This is a very tasty beer made by the Anchor Brewing Company in San Francisco, Ca.

According to the label on the bottle the term 'steam' was used in the 19th century to indicate a beer made on the west coast without any cooling from ice.  The term may also have come from the natural carbonation that occurred from the brewing methods used, knowledge of which seems to have been lost.
