African-American

This seems to be the term that is most desired by Black people in America as a name for the Black race in America.

It seems to be politically correct in our time.

I have no idea why since many Blacks in America were not born in Africa nor were their known ancestors. 

Black people were reported by Columbus when he landed in the the 1490s.  How did they get here?  Were the always here?  Did they migrate here before Columbus? Who knows?

Is a White American who was born in Africa also an African-American?

Should a person who descended from Europeans call themselves European-Americans?

Perhaps Whites should demand being called Euorpean-Americans.
