George Washington 

Born 22 Feb 1732 Died 14 Dec 1799 

His father Augustine Washington died in 1743. "The Age of Washington" page 8)

He became an Entered Apprentice Mason on 04 November 1752 in Fredericksburg Lodge, was passed to the Fellowcraft degree on 03 March 1753, and raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason on 04 August 1753.  Since the Fredericksburg Lodge was granted a charter on 25 July 1758 by the Grand Lodge of Scotland, George Washington is considered by many to have been a Scottish Mason. Elected as POTUS #1 by the Electoral College on 04 Feb 1789. "The Age of Washington" page vi)

He gave the 1st Inaugural Address on 20 April 1789. This is said to have been a Thrusday. "The Age of Washington" page 3)

In 1789 when GW became POTUS there were 11 states with about 4,000,000 people of which about 700,000 were slaves.  Philadelphia was the largest city with 42,444 people living there. NYC had 33,131 people. "The Age of Washington" page 9)

George Washington was assisted in his fight against England by Marquis de Lafayette.  Probably this was the last assistance ever given to the USA by the French!  Anymore they mostly condemn us.  They only seem to like Americans when we are kicking the Germans out of their cities as we did twice in the past 100 years.
