The Entered Apprentice's Song

This song was written in by Brother Matthew Birkhead who died in 1722.

It was first published in Read's Weekly Journal in London on 01 December 1722.

The second verse is said to be:

The World is in pain,
Our Secrets to gain,
And still let them wonder and gaze on;
They ne'er can divine,
The Word or the Sign,
Of a Free & an Accepted Mason.
