John Skene 

He is the first known Freemason in North America.  He was from the Lodge of Aberdeen, which was in existence from at least 1670.  He arrived in New Jersey at an unknown time, but perhaps in 1678.  He was in Pennsylvania in 1681. He bought the estate of Peachfield in Burlington County. He was a Quaker. (See "Cracking the Freemasons Code" by Cooper page 186)
